The Hale County Extension Office offered congratulations to Elicia L. Chaverest, Assistant Director of Alabama A&M University’s Small Farms Research Center, on being selected as a Fellow of the 2024 Women’s Policy Institute.
Elicia, along with other women, will participate in a 40-hour experiential learning curriculum that trains community and state leaders in public policy advocacy and coalition building. Elicia is vigilant in supporting experienced, new, and beginning farmers in Hale County, and throughout the state of Alabama, with continuing educations workshops, educational farm tours, and demonstration site support.
Chaverest’s participation in the Women’s Policy Institute not only helps to benefit the lives of Alabama’s women and girls, but everyone. Chaverest is a Hale County native.
