Tuscaloosa man indicted for making terrorist threats against M’ville mayor

A criminal case against a 51-year-old Tuscaloosa man who is accused of making terrorist threats in Hale County has recently moved into Circuit Court. Hale County’s Grand Jury returned an indictment Nov. 30 against Nasser Ahmed Muthana on charges of making terrorist threats. Muthana had been arrested on April 20, 2023 on the charges.

According to the criminal complaint filed against Muthana, he threatened to “blow up” the home of Moundville mayor Tony Lester.

Following the indictment, on Jan. 3., the case was assigned to Circuit Judge Donald McMillan. Muthana is set for arraignment on the charges on Feb. 15 in Hale County Circuit Court. Court documents indicate that Muthana was still in jail as of press time. Bond on the charges has been set at $10,000.00.
