Mamie Smith, born on May 14, 1942, and aged 81, passed away on September 14 at Christus St. Thomas Hospital in Texarkana, Texas. A public viewing for Mrs. Smith is set for Friday, September 29, from 12:00 noon until 4:00 PM at the Agnew Funeral Home on Baptist Hill in Greensboro. Her celebration of life will be on Saturday, September 30, at 11:00 AM at the Palestine Missionary Baptist Church on Millwood Road in Sawyerville, with the interment to follow at the Sarah Christian Cemetery in Greensboro. The service will be led by Pastor Richard Bennett.
