LaMarcus O’Neal McGuffie, a Greensboro High School graduate and beloved son, brother, and father, passed away on July 12, 2023. Born to parents Ericka Dedrick and Randy O. McGuffie Sr. on July 22, 1994, he was affectionately known as Mark.
Mark’s life was celebrated in a service held on Saturday, July 22, 2023, at 1:30 p.m., at New Jerusalem Baptist Church in Greensboro, Alabama. Rev. Laramie Long officiated. Washington and Paige Mortuary directed.
Known for his courage and strength, Mark’s life was guided by the words from Isaiah 41:10, “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
Mark was preceded in death by his brother, Randy McGuffie Jr., and several loving aunts and uncles. He leaves behind a rich legacy in the hearts of his family, including his parents Ericka and LeAnthony Parrish, and Randy McGuffie Sr.; his children Malaya McGuffie, Aniyah McGuffie, Zakira Britford, and Zaiden Britford; his siblings Bianca Lee, Raeonna Williams, Malaysia Bonner, Cameron Williams Jr., and stepbrother LeAnthony Myers.
He also leaves his grandparents Guster and Ezell McCalpine, Barbara White, Charles White, and Andrew Garrett Sr., along with numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends. Mark’s memory will be cherished by his special friend, Imone Mc- Dermott, and close friend Sandy Lyles Jr., along with a large community of other relatives and friends.
