Archie Leonard Sims of Faunsdale, Alabama, died peacefully on July 5 2023. He was born November 12, 1943 in Greensboro, AL.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Shepard Bradford Sims and his parents, Chester Napier Sims and Sudie Beatrice (Clements) Sims. Survivors include his sons, Robert Bradford Sims (Martin), Philip Harrison Sims (Elizabeth), and Thomas Hardie Sims, all of Birmingham; and granddaughters, Charlotte Dorothy and Katherine Ann Sims. Archie is also survived by his brother, Henry Sims (Terri); and sister, Rita Harless (Danny); and nephews, nieces, great nephews, and great nieces.
Archie lived his life for his wife, his children and their families, and his farm, his three passions in life. He now returns to the farm he loved so much, surrounded by his family, finally joining Shep in eternal rest and peace.
Graveside funeral services were held at Saint Michael’s Cemetery in Faunsdale, AL on Friday, July 7, 2023 at 4:30 pm with Rev. Evan Thayer officiating.
