Dorothy Marie Paige, affectionately known as “Dot,” age 73, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, at Hale County Hospital, Greensboro, AL. Services were held on Saturday, May 13, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at Greenleaf Missionary Baptist Church, 13584 Highway 25, Greensboro, AL. The Rev. Dr. Bryan McCollough was the officiating minister, Rev. C. H. Agnew served as pastor, and Sister Linda T. Fields acted as Mistress of Order.
Dorothy was born to the late O.C. Paige and the late Mary Louise Pickens on September 24, 1949. She accepted Christ at an early age at Greenleaf Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. D. H. Hope, where she served faithfully on the Usher board and the Senior Choir under Pastor C. H. Agnew.
Dot was a proud graduate of Hale County Training School, class of 1967. She was employed with Peco Food, Tuscaloosa, AL for over thirty-nine years.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Mary L. Pickens, father, O.C. Paige, grandfather, Mr. Billy Singleton, sister, Shirley F. Pickens, and stepfather, James Pickens.
Dot’s memory will be cherished by her loving and devoted daughter, Kawonga LaBaine Paige. She is also survived by four devoted sisters, Julia Mae Warren, Betty Jean Paige, Patricia (Leon) Allen, and Floria Pickens; one brother, Ronnie (Donna) Pickens; one aunt, Sis. Sarah Mauldin; one uncle, Tom Paige; several nieces and nephews; two godsons, Marvin (Tara) Williams and Lorenzo (Tara) Ward; two goddaughters, Andretta Skipper and Evelyn Hill; and step-siblings, Gwendolyn Hill, Vanessa Woods, and Jimmy Hardy.
