Greensboro Middle School student, Timothy Johnson (8th grade), recently won the “Realizing the Dream” essay contest. The theme for the essay contest this year was “Realizing the Dream Through Commitment and Sacrifice.” Johnson competed with other students across Alabama, for his essay to be awarded First Place. The Realizing the Dream Committee held a reception on March 30 for essay contest winners. There, Johnson was awarded a Google Chromebook laptop and a check. Johnson’s winning essay will be on display at Shelton State Community College’s Student Showcase through April 7. Greensboro Middle School extended their gratitude to Johnson’s English teacher, Mrs. Moore, as she guided Johnson through the writing and submission process.
