HCSD reports five arrests over the past week, including former Akron clerk

Hale County Sheriff’s Department released the following report of its activities during the previous week:

Arrests:
5-2-22
Jeremy S. Phillips, 40, of Akron was arrested for attempted rape, first degree.

James Dylan Moakley, 24, of Moundville was arrested for failure to appear.

Melvin Clay Thomas, Jr., 57, of Greensboro was arrested on a hold for court.

Britt Langford, 51 of Tuscaloosa was arrested for failure to appear.

5-4-22
Diann Taylor, 42, of Akron was arrested for first-degree theft of property, use of office for personal gain, and failure to pay administrative fee.

Incidents:
5-2-22
Menacing was reported on Oak Village Road near Akron.
