Mack Londee “Malak” Waiters died April 11 at the age of 53. He was born June 30, 1966 in Hale County to the late Eloise “Sally” Waiters and McKinley Waiters, Jr. He confessed Christ at an early age and joined First Baptist Church of Akron. He was a graduate of Freeport High School in Freeport, N.Y. He also attended and graduated from Suburban Technical College in Hempstead, N.Y. with a degree in Digital Computer Technology. He was a self-made man. He had his own work ethic and worked for himself. He mentored his family and friends. Many people in the community looked up to him, especially his cousins. He made many, many friends and will be missed by them all. He is preceded in death by his father, McKinley Waiters, Jr., and his mother, Eloise “Sally” Waiters. Survivors include two sisters; Pamela W. Ingram of Akron and Kim (Otis) Carter of Montgomery; three brothers, Donnell Waiters of Stone Mountain, Ga., Garey Waiters of Akron, and Darren Morrison (Mary) of Moundville; a stepmother, Attie Waiters of Akron; great aunts Lena Moore of Moundville, Carolyn Glover of Akron, Rosie (Edward) Wood of Chattanooga, and Natha Wilson of Akron; great uncles, Leroy Burrell of Brooklyn and Tom (Yvonne) Glover of Akron; aunts, Mary Ruth Collins of Detroit, Sandra (Danny) Carter of Greensboro, Clara Garner of Akron, and Denita Patton of Akron; uncles, Leon (Brenda) Gant of Grand Rapids, Frederick (Jeanie) Glover of Pensacola, and Bernard Whitt of Conyers, Ga.; a special cousin, Tyrone Whitt; a host of other nieces, nephews, and special friends who will miss him greatly. Funeral services were held Saturday, April 23 at the Akron New Cemetery with the Rev. West Moore III officiating and Washington and Paige Mortuary directing.
