Annie L. Holifield, 95, died December 30, 2025. She was born January 2, 1930, in the Lock 5 community to the late Lewis Long Sr. and Polly G. Long.

On December 30, 2025, an angel of the Lord descended from heaven and carried Annie’s soul to rest, until the day when God shall call each of us to receive that heavenly reward promised to those who have kept the faith.

She was baptized in her early years at Christian Valley Baptist Church and later moved her membership to Hopewell Baptist Church with her late husband, Aurthur Holifield Sr., where they were both faithful members. Annie had several occupations, but her primary passion was being a caregiver. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, cooking, and most of all baking cakes for them to enjoy.

Those left behind to continue Annie’s legacy and cherish her precious memories include her loving and devoted granddaughter, Lydia Ann Gooden; 19 grandchildren; her bonus blessings, Jeanette Polk, Connie Braxton, Curtis Braxton, J.C. Holifield (Alberta), Susie Anderson, Lee James Holifield, Ollie Carter, and Idella Jones (Johnnie); her godson, Benny Faust; along with a host of great-grand and great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
