Wesley Wayne Irvin, 78, of Uniontown, passed away Saturday, September 13, 2025, at his home.
Wayne was born July 15, 1947, in Isola, to Connie Troy Irvin and Mary Belle Berryhill Irvin. He was raised in the Central community in Isola, Miss. Wayne was a graduate of Isola High School. He served in the Mississippi Army National Guard. Wayne worked as a carpenter and catfish farmer prior to his retirement. He loved fishing and woodworking. Wayne could build anything from large furniture to birdhouses. In his younger years, he enjoyed playing the guitar and singing. Wayne was a member of Greensboro Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Wayne is survived by his beloved wife, Peggy Hawkins Irvin of Uniontown, Alabama; two sons, Wesley Wayne Irvin, Jr. of Tupelo and William Jason Irvin of Uniontown, Alabama; brother, William Irvin of Branson, Missouri; sister in law, Penny Garrard (Billy Hugh) of Oxford; five grandchildren, Madison, Mary Claire, Lexi, John Bryant, and Ava; and one great granddaughter.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 18, from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at First Baptist Church in Isola. The funeral service began at 11:00 am with the Rev. Trey Harper officiating. Burial followed in Belzoni Cemetery. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola was entrusted with arrangements. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
