Susie Patrick won Tuesday’s runoff for the Moundville Town Council District 5 seat, defeating Gwendolyn Tinker 41–39, according to unofficial totals reported Tuesday night.
The race advanced to a runoff after the Aug. 26 municipal election produced no majority winner. In that first round, Patrick led with 24 votes to Tinker’s 21, while Timothy Dillard received eight.
Tuesday’s results remain unofficial until the vote is canvassed and certified. Under the election calendar, canvassing and certification must be completed by Sept. 30. Patrick will take office with the rest of the council following certification.
