Tammy Gulledge and her Mom, Donna Payne Dowdy, traveled to Richmond, Virginia, for the December 13 graduation of son/grandson Riley Tidmore from the US Army Quartermaster School. He is now a certified Water and Petroleum Specialist. Riley will be spending the holidays at home before heading off to his station at Ft. Drum, New York, on the Canadian border.
Chris Mumma and Wendy Matherson took their annual family trip to Callaway Gardens in Pine Mountain, Ga. Wendy started this tradition when the first set of twins were little. The older set of twins and the first grandchild, Eleanor, share the same birthday on Dec. 5. Making the trip with Chris and Wendy were Carmen, Emmett, and Eleanor Rutledge; Matthew, Allyson, and Laura Delle Fikes from Greensboro; Patrick and Marah Reilly; and Coley Jacobs from Fairhope.
Kendall Pierce surprised her two girls, Brooklyn and Cadence, with a scavenger hunt in Moundville, where they discovered their Christmas surprise: a trip to THE BIG APPLE, New York City! They and Mom left the Thursday before Christmas, and Aunt Heather Pierce, who lives in Boston, picked them up from the airport. They enjoyed Central Park, ice skating, seeing The Rockettes at Radio City Music Hall, the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree, holiday displays on 5th Avenue, and lots of shopping!
Congratulations to Brantley Harris and Jamie Bakondy, who got engaged on November 29. Brantley is the son of Brandon Harris and Bobbi Burroughs Barrow of Moundville. Jamie is the daughter of Andrea and James Bakondy of Northside.
Welcome to the World, Linleigh Joyce Williams, born December 20, 2024, at DCH Northport! Weighing 6 lbs. 6 oz. and 18.5 inches, she is the daughter of Brennan and Ashley Williams from Moundville and is welcomed by Big Brother Wheeler Williams. Proud grandparents are Dewayne and Kristi Williams of Moundville and Steve and Charlotte Riddle of Greensboro. Great-grandparents include Jim and Peggy Cole of Northport, Wayne and Doris Williams of Tuscaloosa, the late Margaret Stephens of Greensboro, Less Averette, and the late Peggy Averette of Greensboro.
Robert Lucky, of Baton Rouge, La., spent Christmas in Greensboro with Bennye and Braz Barnett and Aunts Betty Gist and Mary Jane Blankenship.
Donna Duncan Sealy had her family over for Christmas on January 4. Her son Chris, of Summerdale, his children, and her daughters Betsy and Lane’s family, and Keri and Allen with their son Landyn joined for a total of 19 who enjoyed the day.
Was sorry to hear of the passing of James Marler Jr. James lived here most of his life and was a 1967 graduate of Hale County High. Graveside services will be on Thursday, January 9, at 2 PM at Oak Hill Cemetery, with Bro. Jason Duckett officiating.
