Austin loved his family and friends. Anyone who knew Austin for any length of time knew his huge heart and care for others. His smile, wit, and laughter were contagious, and he never seemed to meet a stranger. He loved with his whole heart and was a trusted friend to many.

Austin grew up enjoying the outdoors. His passion was being on the lake fishing from a very early age. In 20 plus years he never once kept a fish he always put them back. In his words as a young boy, “We need to put them back Dad, I don’t want them to suffer.” So, we always did.

Austin had a deep sense of love for animals. It wasn’t uncommon for him to bring home strays to care for which later became family pets. One such kitten “Mackie” may or may not have crawled on its own into his pocket while visiting an animal shelter as a young boy. This continued even to the current day where he was feeding and caring for two strays at work. No one could touch them much less hold them but him. His coworkers agreed to continue to care for them in his honor. This is just a glimpse into the heart of Austin Faught.

Austin also developed a love for baseball. He played little league and then youth baseball starting at age 5. His dream job was to one day work with stats for a Major League team. He loved watching major league games and was a big New York Yankees fan.

Lastly Austin loved music. He would often say how it calmed him (unless it was Justin Timberlake). He might have danced a little when his songs came on. You never knew what genre he would be listening to. But you could rest assured it was being played loud enough for everyone to feel it.

We lost a great young man here on earth, but we know Heaven gained an angel. He was a beloved son, brother, nephew, cousin, “Uncle Austin” to Sawyer Springer, and a trusted friend to Sawyers Dad Ross and so many others. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Honorary pallbearers will be employees of Dixie Battery and all the many people that knew and loved him.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Tuscaloosa Metro Animal Shelter.
