Willie J. Chambers, 65, of Newbern, Alabama, passed away on November 7, 2024. He was born on January 17, 1959, to Lillie B. Chambers and Henry Chambers in Newbern, Alabama.
Mr. Chambers was a lifelong member of St. John Baptist Church, where he served faithfully until his passing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lillie B. Chambers and Henry Chambers, and two brothers, John Chambers and Henry Chambers Jr.
Willie J. Chambers is survived by his wife, Linda Chambers; his son, Willie T. Chambers of Greensboro, Alabama; his daughter, Sharon Williams of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; and two stepchildren, LaTara (Anthony) Edwards and Tyrone (Tameka) White, both of Moundville, Alabama.
He is also survived by three sisters, Susie (Corey) Weatherspoon of Newbern, Alabama, Hattie (Leon) Dedrick of Sawyerville, Alabama, and Atlay Cannon of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; two brothers, Eddie (Jackie) Chambers of Newbern, Alabama, and Robert (Berena) Chambers of Cleveland, Ohio; four brothers-in-law, Samuel (Little) White, Wilbert (Barbara) White, Ivory White, and Larry White, all of Greensboro, Alabama; and three sisters-in-law, Doris Jones of Sawyerville, Alabama, Sandra (Barry) Williams, and Shirley (Willie) Thomas, both of Greensboro, Alabama.
He leaves behind eight grandchildren, a host of nephews and nieces, and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. at St. John Baptist Church in Greensboro, Alabama, with Pastor C.H. Franklin officiating.
