Elander Goode, known as “Lant,” was born to the late Luke Henry and Katie Goode on July 11, 1953, in Greensboro, Alabama. He was the sixth of twelve children.
Lant worked as a diesel mechanic in Boston, Massachusetts. He was kind, fun-loving, and playful. He loved his family, and during his younger years, he enjoyed wrestling with some of his sisters.
He fell asleep in death on September 12, 2024. Elander was preceded in death by his sister, Laura Banks, and his brothers, Cleveland and Curtis Goode.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Margaret Goode; his children, Catherine Renee Black of Boston, MA, Elander Goode Jr. of Boston, MA, and Jennifer O’Neal Goode of Boston, MA; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren, all of Boston, MA. He is also survived by his five sisters, Rennonia Warren of Boston, MA, Mattie (Kevin) Dunham of Newnan, GA, Bonnie Goode of College Park, GA, Brenda Goode of Greensboro, AL, and Sheila (Gregory) Harris of College Park, GA; four brothers, Charles (Lottie) Goode of Cleveland, GA, Roger (Donna) Goode of Waleska, GA, Darcy Goode of Fort Lauderdale, FL, and Sidney Goode of Greensboro, AL; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
The celebration of life for Elander Goode was held on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at 12:00 PM at Washington and Paige Mortuary Chapel, located at 1745 Highway 25 North, Greensboro, Alabama 36744.
