Leola Madison Wilder passed away on Tuesday, July 25, 2023, at DCH Medical Center at the age of 66. Born on January 9, 1957, in Greensboro, Alabama to Lula Bell Wesley and Henry Madison, faith was an integral part of her life.
Leola’s celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 5, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Washington & Paige Mortuary in Greensboro, Alabama, with Rev. Antonio Shelton officiating.
Leola confessed her life to Christ at an early age and was later baptized again after joining Cornerstone Baptist Church of Tuscaloosa, AL, in 2011. Her faith was an enduring testament to her character and resilience.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lula Bell Madison and Henry Madison, as well as her sisters, Sue Willie Harris and Bertha (Freeman) Small.
Leola’s memory will be lovingly cherished by her three children: Latanya Summerville of Tuscaloosa, AL; Cheryl (Sha) Hamilton of Demopolis, AL; and John Ross (J.R.)(Le’Nika) Johnson of Calera, AL. She also leaves behind five grandchildren, one greatgrandchild, two sisters: Virginia Small of Cleveland, OH, and Carrie Carter of Birmingham, AL, along with nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives and friends.
