Joetta “Sis” Lewis, 64, passed away on February 24, 2023. She was born on February 26, 1959, to Frances “Coot” Lewis and Warren “Walt” Lewis, Sr., both of whom preceded her in death. Joetta was also preceded in death by her brother Tommie Lewis and sisters Velma and Frances Lewis. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. Joetta is survived by her children Franklin Lewis, Pamela Lewis, and Joeretha Lewis, two grandchildren whom she adored, Jaquavious Maiden and Tyronza Maiden, her siblings Warren Lewis Jr., Martha Lewis, Doria (Winston) Lee, Diane (Joe Mac Williams) Lewis, Rory Lewis, and Barbara (Tanika) Lewis, a special friend Johnny H. Lewis, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
A graveside service for Joetta “Sis” Lewis was held on Saturday, March 11, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. at Curry Grove Cemetery in Newbern, Alabama. Rev. William Lee officiated, and Sister Louise Daniels served as Mistress of Ceremonies.
