Roy K. Creel, age 75 of Moundville, passed away October 4, 2022 at Hospice of West Alabama. He was born March 5, 1947. Graveside services were held on Friday, October 7, 2022 at 11:00 am at Kinard Cemetery in West Blocton, Alabama with Jim Grubbs officiating and Magnolia Chapel South directing.
He is preceded in death by his parents; James U. and Jennie Creel, daughter; Marcia O. Creel, and sister; Patsy C. Smalley.
Survivors include his loving wife of 48 years Laverne F. Creel, son; Dennis M. Creel (Amy), sisters; Carolyn Matherson (Jerry), Martha Ray (Randy), Gloria Rogers (Richard), grandchildren; Dennis Michael Creel, Jr. (Lauren), Morgan Boyd (Landon), Matthew Weaver, Cameron Clinner, six great grandchildren, sister-inlaws; Connie Foster, and Judy Darnell (Fred).
Roy was a loving husband and cherished his family. He was a project manager for Hall-Taylor Construction until his retirement. He will be missed by all.
Pallbearers were Michael Creel, Richard Rogers, Matthew Weaver, Cameron Clinner, Jerry Matherson, Trent Matherson, Randy Ray, and Landon Boyd. Honorary pallbearers were Fred Darnell, Jim Grubbs, Randy Roy, and Bill Townsend.In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
