Sealed bids will be received by the Director of Transportation at the office of the Alabama Department of Transportation, Montgomery, Alabama until 10:00 AM on June 26, 2026, and at that time publicly opened for constructing the Safety Widening, Planing, Resurfacing, Traffic Signal Upgrades (Signal Detection and Backplate Replacement), and Traffic Stripe on SR-14 from a point 0.290 mile west of the junction of Holbrook Place to the junction of SR-61 in Greensboro. Length 4.699 mi.

The total amount of uncompleted work under contract to a contractor must not exceed the amount of his or her qualification certificate.

The Entire Project Shall Be Completed In Forty-five (45) Working Days.

A Bidding Proposal may be purchased for $5.00. Plans may be purchased for $11.00 per set. Plans and Proposals are available at the Alabama Department of Transportation, 1409 Coliseum Boulevard, Room E-108, Montgomery, AL 36110.

Checks should be made payable to the Alabama Department of Transportation. Plans and Proposals will be mailed only upon receipt of remittance. No refunds will be made.

Minimum wage rates for this project have been pre-determined by the Secretary of Labor and are set forth in the advertised specifications. This project is subject to the contract work hours and Safety Standards Act and its implementing regulations.

Cashier’s check or bid bond for 5% of bid (maximum – $50,000.00) made payable to the Alabama Department of Transportation must accompany each bid as evidence of good faith.

The bracket range is shown only to provide general financial information to contractors and bonding companies concerning the project’s complexity and size. This Bracket should not be used in preparing a bid, nor will this bracket have any bearing on the decision to award this contract.

The Bracket Estimate On This Project Is From $1,969,743 To $2,407,464.

The proposed work shall be performed in conformity with the rules and regulations for carrying out the Federal Highway Act.

Plans and Specifications are on file in Room E-108 of the Alabama Department of Transportation at Montgomery, Alabama 36110.

In accordance with the rules and regulations of The Alabama Department of Transportation, proposals will be issued only to prequalified contractors or their authorized representatives, upon requests that are received before 10 AM., on the day previous to the day of opening of bids.

Sealed proposals for this project shall be received by Mr. Michael C. Ryans, Superintendent at the Hale County Board of Education located at 1115 Powers Street, Greensboro, AL 36744; Phone: 334-624-8836, until 2:00 PM Central Time, Tuesday, June 30, 2026, then opened and read aloud.

Public Notice of Availability — Federal Aviation Administration Environmental Assessment for the Expansion of the Airport Terminal Area at Greensboro Municipal Airport (7A0)

The Greensboro Municipal Airport in coordination with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), in compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969 (NEPA) and the FAA Order 1050.1G, Environmental Impacts: Policies and Procedures, has completed an Environmental Assessment (EA) for the proposed expansion of the airport terminal area at Greensboro Municipal Airport (7A0). Marion Military Institute — Request for Proposals: Aviation Training Provider, Academic Year 2026–2027

Marion Military Institute is a two-year, state-supported, degree-granting educational institution located in Marion, Alabama. As part of their program of instruction, MMI offers flight training to three categories of students:

a. One-Year Students. Normally one year in length. Their requirement is to demonstrate flight aptitude to maximize chances of gaining a pilot slot from their service academy. PPL is not a part of their requirement.

b. Two-Year Students. Civil aviation-tracked students to obtain a PPL during their two years at MMI. These students will also pursue additional hours in preparation for additional ratings.

c. Two-Year Aviation Degree Students. MMI anticipates beginning a program for an aviation associate’s degree in applied science. The requirement for these students is to obtain a PPL during their first year at MMI, then progressively work on additional certifications in the following terms (instrument, commercial, etc.).

MMI also offers an introductory summer Aim High Flight Academy (AHFA) program that includes both ground school and 12–15 hours of in-flight instruction, culminating in solo flights for participating students.

MMI is seeking a qualified aviation training provider capable of delivering comprehensive FAA Part 141–certified instruction in support of Marion Military Institute’s aviation programs for Academic Year 2026–2027. The selected contractor will be responsible for providing aircraft, instructors, simulators, curriculum support, training records, and operational oversight necessary to meet MMI’s aviation training objectives.
