A Greensboro man faces two counts of reckless endangerment in connection with the March shooting outside Club 14 in Sawyerville, making him the second person charged in the early-morning incident that left one man wounded.
Raekwon Tyrez Hoskins, 24, of 2504 Faunsdale Road, Greensboro, was arrested June 6. As of June 8, Hale County District Court records listed his status as jailed, with bond set at $6,000 on each count, or $12,000 total.
According to the sworn complaints filed by Hale County Deputy Jack D. Nelson, Hoskins was standing in front of Club 14 at about 2:00 a.m. on March 15 when several fights involving guns broke out among people in the parking lot and inside the club.
Hoskins pulled a handgun from his left front pants pocket and showed it to another man, who was shot a few minutes later in the parking lot, the complaints state. The complaints do not say who fired the round that struck him.
A short time later, after another man, Jalen Williams, fired several rounds from a Draco pistol, Hoskins pulled out a pistol, ran past Williams and several other people, and fired his weapon several times, according to the complaints.
Nelson alleges that Hoskins ran through the area recklessly shooting and pointing the gun at people, firing toward the north in the direction of Alabama Highway 14.
Nelson stated he has clear footage from Club 14’s security cameras showing Hoskins with the pistol and firing it. Hoskins’s conduct in firing multiple times in a crowded parking lot placed several lives at substantial risk of serious physical injury or death, the complaints state.
