Clydia Jean Buckhana, 72, of Akron, died February 28, 2026. She was born May 28, 1953 in Akron, Alabama, to the late Charles Hollie and Ceola Hollie. She attended Akron High Public Schools and graduated from Akron High School.

Clydia confessed Christ at an early age and joined First Baptist Church of Akron under the leadership of Reverend Lester Patton. She served faithfully as a choir member, Sunday School Teacher, and in other functions under the leadership of Reverend Billy Thornton for the last twenty-one years, until her health no longer allowed her to do so.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Buckhana; her father, Charles Hollie; her mother, Ceola Hollie; and her brother, Warren Hollie.

Clydia leaves to cherish her precious memories her daughter, Katrina Buckhana; three grandchildren, Timmy Croxton, Jr., Tamera Croxton, and Tyra Croxton; three sisters, Barbara Moore, Charsas A. Hollie of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and Terry Hollie of Detroit, Michigan; one brother, Stanley Hollie of Akron, Alabama; a host of special nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends; and her extended family, the Small Family.

Funeral services were held Saturday, March 14, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Akron, 7160 1st Ave N, Akron, Alabama 35441, with Pastor Clarence Gary serving as Pulpit Conductor and Reverend Billy Thornton, Sr., delivering the eulogy. Arrangements were by Washington and Paige Mortuary.
