Friday night’s ‘Sumac Sundowner’ will feature related works from songwriter Tim Higgins and artist Casey Roberts
Sumac Cottage will launch its lineup of Spring programs on Friday, March 13th with their second Sumac Sundowner event, featuring the work of textile artist Casey Roberts (Marion, AL) and musician Tim Higgins (Greensboro, AL).
Roberts will be displaying his new architectural textile works, featuring familiar locations like Gaineswood and Rural Studio’s Red Barn, while Tim will be performing his original music. Both artists have made new work in response to each other’s creations.
The reception starts at 6 in the gallery, with music beginning at 7 on the back porch. The cottage and gallery will be open throughout the night, with a variety of artwork and Sumac Cottage goods for sale. All are welcome to bring a chair for the music and stay a while.
Other upcoming spring events include a Kudzu Basket Making workshop, natural dye classes, history lectures, and more.
Sumac Cottage is located at 1107 South Street in downtown Greensboro. Parking is available along Market Street, or in the large public lot behind the Opera House.
