A Greensboro man is facing a trafficking charge after deputies say they found roughly an ounce of drugs during a Jan. 31 incident.

Hale County District Court records show Leland Jackson Harris, 38, of Greensboro, was arrested on Feb. 2 and charged with one count of drug trafficking under Alabama Code §13A-12-231 and one count of attempting to elude law enforcement. The case is filed as DC-2026-900039.

According to a complaint filed in the case, Harris is accused of unlawfully possessing about 28 grams of a controlled substance, described in the warrant as cocaine, which investigators say was found in the armrest of the vehicle he was driving. The same incident also led to the misdemeanor attempting-to-elude charge.

Bond in the trafficking case has been set at a total of $503,000, and Harris is listed as being held in the Hale County Jail.
