Norma Burns Wilson, 83, of Eutaw, passed away on January 11, 2026, at Hospice of West Alabama. A graveside service was held on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Mesopotamia Cemetery in Eutaw, with Bro. Dan Arsenault officiating and Magnolia Chapel South directing.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hartwell and Mary Lee Burns; her brother, Maurice Burns; and her sister, Margie Burns Walker.

Survivors include her husband of 64 years, James Wilson; daughter Dana Wilson Velasquez (Ali); sons Ricky Wilson (Brenda) and Grady Wilson (Lorena); sisters Jane Burns Sellers (Morgan) and Brenda Burns Shewmake; brothers Gerald Burns (Judy), Dan Burns, and Rayburn Burns; along with 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Norma was born in Ralph, Alabama, and was a lifelong member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Ralph. She graduated from Tuscaloosa County High School in 1960. In 1961, she married James Wilson of Eutaw, Alabama, and together they shared 64 years of marriage.

Over the next three years, they had three children, to whom she devoted her life to raising and nurturing. She was a dedicated farm wife and was employed as secretary of Windle Construction Company in Carrollton, Alabama for 35 years.

She was the proud grandmother of 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, all of whom adored her.

Pallbearers were Joseph Wilson, Logan Wilson, Caleb Velasquez, Silas Wilson, Alex Barnes and Jonathan Bonilla.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of West Alabama in memory of Norma Wilson.
