Two Moundville-area brothers have been charged with domestic violence after Hale County deputies say they threw objects at one another during a fight at their home last week.
According to complaints filed in Hale County District Court, Johnathan Wesley York, 41, and his brother, Christopher Keith York, 38, were involved in an altercation at a residence on Indian Hill Road on the morning of Jan. 20.
In separate sworn complaints, Deputy Samuel Plummer alleges that Christopher York threw objects at Johnathan York, causing minor injury, and that Johnathan York threw objects at Christopher York, injuring his elbow.
Both men were arrested Jan. 21 and each is charged with one count of domestic violence third degree, based on third-degree assault, a Class A misdemeanor under Alabama law.
Their cases are docketed separately in District Court, with bond set at $6,000 for each defendant, and both have been appointed attorneys.
The charges are pending in Hale County District Court. Both defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
