James Earl Elliott
July 28, 1971 – December 24

James Earl Elliott died Dec. 24 at the age of 54. He was born on July 28, 1971, to the late Willie B. Elliott and Bill Minter.

He grew up in Akron and received his education through the Akron school system. From a young age, James demonstrated a remarkable talent for mechanics and found great joy in working on cars. His skills and passion for repairing vehicles were well known among his family and friends.

James was preceded in death by his parents, Willie B. Elliott and Bill Minter; his grandparents, Waymond and Murray Elliott and Clayton and Willie Bell Minter; and his sister, Rachel Elliott.

He leaves to cherish his memory his son, Devoris (Kiera) Spence of Tuscaloosa, AL; his daughter, Timesha Rollins of Tuscaloosa, AL; and three grandchildren: Desmon Spence, Akeenan Rollins, and Aakeelan Rollins.

James is also survived by five brothers: Clayton (Tabitha) Elliott; David (Latonya) Ball of Tuscaloosa, AL; David (Ashley) Gardner of Michigan; David Minter, Jr. of Sawyerville; and Darnell (Francinic) Wiggins of Prattville, AL; as well as two sisters, Pamela Lewis of Sawyerville, AL, and Shawndel Woods of Tuscaloosa, AL.

Additionally, he is fondly remembered by seven aunts, three uncles, and a host of other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly. James’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Services were held Saturday, Jan. 3, at Washington and Paige Mortuary Chapel in Greensboro.
