Qualifying is underway for local offices on the 2026 ballot in Hale County, with several incumbents and at least one challenger already in the races. Democratic Party qualifying for county offices runs from Jan. 5 through Jan. 23, 2026, according to Hale County Democratic Party Chair Gay Nell Singleton. The primary election will be held May 19, 2026, with the general election set for Nov. 3, 2026.
As of this week, Sheriff Michael Hamilton has qualified for re-election as Hale County Sheriff. In the Hale County Commission District 4 race, Charles Patrick has qualified. Revenue Commissioner Andretta Skipper has qualified for another term as Hale County Revenue Commissioner.
