Jared Kyle Stinson, 30, of Grove Hill has been charged in Hale County District Court with hunting without a license, a misdemeanor, according to court records. The charge stems from a non-traffic citation issued on Dec. 14. The citation alleges the offense occurred in Hale County at or near Lake Payne. Court records show the case was filed on Dec. 18 and is set for plea docket on Feb. 18, 2026, at 9 a.m. in Greensboro.

Akron man charged with criminal mischief after alleged BB gun damageJanuary 2, 2026
Frank Hollie Jr., 71, of Akron was arrested on Dec. 16 and charged in Hale County District Court with third-degree criminal mischief, a misdemeanor, according to court records. A complaint filed in the case alleges that Hollie told investigators he shot at neighboring homes with a Daisy BB gun, including shooting a door multiple times, damaging vinyl siding, and shooting an outdoor air-conditioning unit.

Gov. Kay Ivey has awarded more than $273,000 in grants to assist three local governments in Alabama in saving operating costs through the installation of upgraded lighting and other energy-efficient measures. Locally, the Hale County Commission was awarded a $123,992 grant to install energy-efficient LED lighting at the Hale County Jail.
