HCSD reports arrests for unemployment compensation violation, truancy, DUI

The Hale County Sheriff’s Department has released the following report of recent activity:

Arrests

December 2, 2025

  • Angela Denise Cox, 34, of Greensboro, was arrested for truancy.

December 6, 2025

  • Dewayne Levondre Pettway, 19, of Tuscaloosa, was arrested for failure to appear (two counts).
  • Elma Carr Jr., 49, of Newbern, was arrested for an unemployment compensation violation.
  • McKinley Williams Jr., 47, of Akron, was arrested for driving under the influence.

December 7, 2025

  • Kelsey Omar Lewis, 38, of Akron, was arrested for domestic violence, third degree/menacing (three counts).

Incidents

December 1, 2025

  • Menacing was reported on 2nd Avenue North near Akron.

December 2, 2025

  • A burglary was reported on Relco Road near Gallion.
