Greensboro is getting ready to kick off its 2025 Christmas Parade Celebration with two days of events in downtown.
The festivities will begin Friday, December 12, 2025, with a Christmas Community Choir concert, Christmas tree lighting and fireworks show on Main Street between Whelan and Beacon streets. The program will start at 6 p.m. and will feature free hot dogs, candy and beverages, along with opportunities for children to take pictures with Santa.
The Annual Greensboro Christmas Parade will follow on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at 2:30 p.m.
This year’s theme is “A JOYOUS CHRISTMAS.”
Grand marshals for the parade will be Greensboro Mayor Ralph Howard and Hale County Probate Judge David Parker. The Christmas Celebration will conclude with a fireworks show at dark on Saturday.
Parade entry forms must be received by the Greensboro Christmas Parade Committee no later than 5 p.m. on Friday, December 12, 2025. The entry fee is $30. After the deadline, a late fee of $20 will be added. Parade sign-in will begin at 12:30 p.m. on December 13, with line-up starting at 1 p.m.
The parade route will begin on Armory Street, then proceed left onto College Street, right onto First Street, left onto Main Street and left onto Tuscaloosa Street, ending at Tuscaloosa Street and South Street.
Organizers are encouraging businesses, churches, school organizations, social and savings clubs, civic groups and others to participate. Antique cars, golf carts, ATVs, motorcycles and horses are welcome, but all vehicles must be decorated. The committee expects seven marching bands to take part in this year’s parade.
Music, entertainment, food and other activities will be available throughout the day, with vendors and crafters set up along Main Street. The vendor application deadline is December 5, 2025; an additional $20 late fee will be charged after that date.
Organizers are inviting the entire community to come out and enjoy the fun-filled weekend.
“Remember, Jesus is the reason for the season. Happy Holidays,” the Greensboro Christmas Parade Committee said in its announcement.
