Viola Beatrice Diggins

Viola Beatrice Diggins was born on April 3, 1942, to the late Joe and Rachel Scott Diggins of Hale County and died on November 4, 2025, at DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa at the age of 83.

She attended schools in the Hale County School System. She confessed hope in Christ at an early age and joined Whitsett Baptist Church in Newbern. After moving to the Akron area, she joined Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, where she remained a faithful member until her death.

She dedicated more than twenty-six years of service to Peco Foods in Tuscaloosa and retired in 2006. She was known for her compassion, gentle spirit, strong faith, and unwavering dedication to her family. She enjoyed cooking, quilting, reading crossword puzzles, and sharing words of wisdom with everyone she met.

She was preceded in death by her parents; six sisters; and three brothers.

She leaves to cherish her memory her son, Scottie (Cassandra) Diggins of Sawyerville; her granddaughter, Joycelyn Diggins of Tuscaloosa; her brother, James (Delsa) Diggins of Demopolis; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, dear friends; and a special friend, Ella Bell Bension, whom she spoke with daily.

Funeral services were held Saturday, November 15, 2025, at 12:00 noon at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, 101 Brasfield Road, Akron, Alabama, with Pastor Samuel Ezell officiating.
