Randy Sneed was born on November 5, 1958, in Newbern, Alabama, to the late Ethel L. Sneed, and died on November 6, 2025, at his residence.

During his early life, Randy attended the Cahaba Center in Uniontown and Selma, where he participated in activities and sports and earned numerous awards, plaques, medallions, and trophies through Special Olympics events.

For many years he worked at Newbern Mercantile, arriving bright and early to greet customers with his warm smile. His kindness and cheerful personality touched countless lives in Newbern’s close-knit community. He was a dedicated member of First Baptist Church in Newbern under the leadership of Pastor James L. Williams until his health began to fail.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Ethel L. Sneed; his brother, Tom Holifield; his sister-in-law, Amber Carr; his niece, Amy Elizabeth Carr; and his nephew, Brandon J. Woods.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories his loving and devoted brother and caregiver, Jimmie Carr; his sisters, Gloria Harris and Sharon Wilson (Joe); his brothers, Willie Carr (Michelle) and James A. Brown (Joyce); his aunts, Lizz Mixon, Frances Bell, and Dot Blake; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

He will be remembered for his remarkable courage, strength, and genuine love for people.

Funeral services were held Saturday, November 15, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church Newbern, 296 Beech Street, Newbern, Alabama, with Pastor James Williams officiating.
