A Greensboro man, Joe Albert Harris, has been charged with attempted murder and first-degree arson in connection with a November 15 incident in Perry County. According to sworn complaints filed in district court, Harris is accused of shooting his mother and then setting fire to her mobile home while a person was inside. The filing states that the gunfire struck the victim in the chin and right arm.
Harris was arrested on November 18 and placed on the jail docket. His total bond was set at $120,000. The case is assigned to District Judge Robert D. Bryant.

Harris is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
