Greensboro Antiques officially opened for business on Saturday, November 1, at 1207 Main Street. A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held with the vendors and building owners in attendance. Previously the spot for Alabama Home Respiratory, the property has been a retail fixture in Greensboro since its early days as a pharmacy. Later, it was home to a women’s clothing store called The Fashion Shoppe. The building underwent extensive renovations in preparation for the new store, which includes many vendors from the well-loved Annie’s Antiques, just two doors down.

During renovations, part of the original floor was uncovered from the shop’s early days—a mosaic tile of red with a pattern of grey flowers.

The red exterior has been traded for green with gold accents. The display windows that once featured mannequins of an elderly couple with CPAP machines are now staged for the holiday season. With eight vendors, the shop offers a wide array of Depression glass, Vaseline glass, McCoy pottery, and other popular home goods of yesteryear.
