An 18-year-old Uniontown resident has been arrested on two weapons charges tied to an incident last week on a Hale County school campus.

Demarcus Markise Lee, of Uniontown, is charged with possession of a deadly weapon on school premises, alleging he knowingly, with intent to do bodily harm, carried or possessed a deadly weapon on the premises of a public school, as well as “certain persons forbidden to possess a pistol,” alleging he possessed a pistol while falling into a class of people prohibited under that law.

The complaint lists the date of the alleged conduct as Friday, Sept. 26, 2025; it does not identify which school. Bond was set at $7,500.

Under Alabama law, the school-grounds charge is a Class C felony (Ala. Code §13A-11-72(d)(1)). The pistol count, for “certain persons forbidden,” is charged here under §13A-11- 72(b)(1), which is a Class A misdemeanor. Justia+1

Lee was arrested Monday, Sept. 29, in Uniontown and charged in Hale County.

Because Lee is 18, he may ask the court for youthful offender treatment. Alabama’s Youthful Offender Act allows judges to consider defendants who were under 21 at the time of the alleged offense; if granted, proceedings are closed and sentencing is limited under that statute. Whether to grant that status is up to the judge. Justia

As with all criminal cases, these are allegations that must be proven in court.
