William Travis Hoggle was born on June 22, 1943, to Virtie Wade Hoggle and Louise Sims Hoggle of Marion, Alabama. He passed away on September 14, 2025, at Woodhaven Manor Nursing Home in Demopolis, Alabama, at the age of 82.
He confessed his belief in Christ at an early age and joined Pleasant Valley Methodist Church. He later married Mary Alice Ware Hoggle, and through this union they were blessed with three children. His interests included family, gardening, sewing, and reading.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Virtie Wade Hoggle and Louise Sims Hoggle, his wife, Mary Alice W. Hoggle, his sister, Sandra Aultman, and one grandson, James Russell Smith.
Mr. Hoggle is survived by his children, William A. Hoggle (Paige) of Moundville, Alabama, Mary M. Smith (Robin) of Sarasota, Florida, and Kimberley L. Smith (Timothy) of Greensboro, Alabama. He is also survived by six grandchildren, DaiTwon A. Smith (Brittany), McKensie Battles (Garrett), William M. Hoggle (Leanne), Kadan S. Smith, Casen Robertson, and Colin Robertson; and three great-grandchildren, DaiAna S. Smith, Alahna S. Evans, and Grayson J. East. Additional survivors include his brother, Basil Hoggle; his sister, Virties Clements (Pat); and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A graveside service for Mr. Hoggle was held at noon on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at Pleasant Valley Methodist Church in Greensboro, with Reverend Mattew Kornman officiating and Washington & Paige Mortuary directing.
