Greensboro City Council voted to approve a resolution allowing for a severe weather preparedness tax holiday for the city of Greensboro during their September 23rd meeting. Councilmember Curtis made a motion to approve the resolution, Councilmember Kyser seconded the motion, and it was unanimously carried. The tax holiday weekend will take place during the last full weekend of February 2026.
Councilmember Bragg made a motion to make a lease payment of $58,661 to Cadence Equipment for the city’s 2023 Freightliner garbage truck. Curtis seconded the motion, and it was unanimously carried.
Curtis made a motion to approve a payment of $4,771 to Central Alabama Training Solutions for the purpose of repairing an intake valve in the city’s Ladder 11 fire truck.
Councilmember Bragg seconded the motion, and it was unanimously carried. The Greensboro Fire Department will pay for the repairs.
Toyvain Brand asked the city to close Market Street to traffic on October 31st from 5PM to 10PM for Truck or Treat. Curtis made a motion to close the street for the event, Lewis seconded the motion, and it was unanimously carried.
Curtis made a motion to hold a Council Workshop concerning Hwy69/Smith Park on September 30 at 6PM. Lewis seconded the motion, and it was unanimously carried.
