Greensboro High School Celebrates Inaugural Year of CLIMB Academy
In collaboration with Greensboro High School, Project Horseshoe Farm is proud to announce the launch of CLIMB Academy – Community Leaders in Medicine and Beyond, a new program designed for highschool students pursuing careers in healthcare.
CLIMB Academy gives students direct exposure to the healthcare field through meaningful, hands-on experiences. Participants interact with nursing home residents, join patient rounds in clinical settings, attend field trips to universities and research facilities, and hear from healthcare professionals and public health leaders about their careers.
Nine ambitious students were selected for the 2025–2026 cohort, representing a diverse range of future careers—from engineering and obstetrics to veterinary medicine—each eager to explore the many opportunities in medicine, allied health, and public health.
Led by directors Jada Williams and Patty Diaz, who are also community health fellows with Project Horseshoe Farm, the academy emphasizes career exploration, leadership development, and citizenship. Through job shadowing, classroom enrichment, and service projects, students are able to explore healthcare careers, develop professional skills, and understand the impact of medicine in their community.
“This is an incredible opportunity for Greensboro High School students,” said Jada Williams, CLIMB Academy Director. “CLIMB Academy not only prepares them for future studies in health careers, but also inspires them to serve their community as future leaders and stewards of change”.
