Mary Lynn Prince-Peterson, 45, of Northport, Alabama, passed away peacefully at DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on January 8, 1980, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, to Judy Lynn Prince and David Ash Sr. Her maternal grandparents, Evie and Lucille Prince, and her father, David Ash Sr., preceded her in death.
She is survived by her exhusband, Javaris Peterson and family; her mother, Judy Lynn Prince; and six sisters, Tara Prince, Scharol Prince- Jackson, Robin Prince, Mildred Ash, Beverly Ash, and Yolanda Ash-Watkins (Floyd) of Greensboro, Alabama. She is also survived by three brothers, David Ash Jr., Eugene (Rita) Ash of Greensboro, Alabama, and Angelo Ash, as well as Kenneth Ash of Lilburn, Georgia. Her nieces and nephews include Ashley Prince, James Banks Jr., Jordan (J.B.) Acklin-Banks, Paige Hooks, Miles Hooks, and all of her other nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her aunts and uncles, Lelia Ellis-Howard, Shirley (John) Hunt, and Chester (Allener) Prince. Her cousins are Elbert Ellis Jr., Marquis Ellis, and Trevar Ellis, who were more like brothers to her. She will be lovingly remembered by her best friends, Sonya Morse- Banks and Elder Annis Willis, her Bible class family, and a host of other family members and friends.
A Celebration of Life service was held on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Washington and Paige Mortuary Chapel, located at 17745 Alabama Highway 25N in Greensboro, Alabama, with Pastor Stephany D. Colenberg officiating. Mary’s ashes will be scattered later by her immediate family.
