Hale County Sheriff’s Dept. has released the follow report of the department’s recent activity:
Arrests:
August 12, 2025
Darnell Devon Coats, 41, of Sawyerville, was arrested for probation violation.
Chemekia Lashall Waller, 46, of Sawyerville, was arrested for third-degree theft of property.
Courtney Laquinn Hurt, 41, of Greensboro, was arrested for two counts of second-degree possession of a forged instrument.
Tarrell Damon Scott, 29, of Newbern, was arrested for second-degree possession of marijuana.
August 13, 2025
Johnny Troydell White, 56, of Greensboro, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of second-degree marijuana, and bond revocation.
August 16, 2025
Calvin Wayne Sewell, 46, of Greensboro, was arrested for domestic violence by strangulation.
Gary Lee Williams, 47, of Greensboro, was arrested for third-degree criminal trespass.
August 17, 2025
Joseph O’Bryant, 20, of Gordo, was arrested for second-degree sexual abuse.

A miscellaneous incident was reported on Cottonwood Circle near Newbern.

Third-degree domestic violence was reported on Weeks Road near Akron.
Second-degree forgery was reported on Caleb Burroughs Road near Greensboro. Harassment was reported on Pheasant Road near Newbern.
August 17, 2025
Domestic violence by strangulation or suffocation was reported on Bell Drive near Gallion.
Third-degree burglary was reported on County Road 36 near Akron.
Second-degree criminal mischief was reported on Highway 14 near Sawyerville.
