The town of Akron, in conjunction with the Hale County Community Health and Wellness Station at the Akron Public Library, celebrated World Health Day on Monday, April 7th. Dr. Erica Day-Bevel, a family medicine doctor based in Tuscaloosa, was the guest speaker for the event. Dr. Day-Bevel gave a speech that focused on maternal health and the progression of women’s health. The OnMed CareStation was open for the event, offering vital checks, demonstrations, and consultations. World Health Day featured door prizes and refreshments, along with hot meals from D’Ray’s food truck.
