Ronald E. “Goon” Stacy was born on September 5, 1961, in Douglas, Arizona, to Andrew Jackson Stacy and Frances Valencia Stacy Duron. He was an identical twin and the sixth of seven children. He entered into eternal rest in the early hours of March 10, 2025.
He is survived by his wife of nearly forty-two years, Dawn Hamm Stacy. He is also survived by his daughters, Julia Cook of Duran and Martha Welshans and her husband, Seth; his son, Jon Michael Stacy; and his six grandchildren, Alex, Cerilo, Delilah Cook, Helen, Piper, and Zelda Welshans. He was a beloved father figure and “Pop” to many others. His surviving siblings include Rose “ChaCha” Medina and her husband, Manny, Theresa “Terry” Cummings, Andrew Jackson Stacy Jr., Jack Stacy and his wife, Gina, Stella “Cissy” Rojo and her husband, Armando, Donald Edgar “Eggy” Stacy, and Frances Elizabeth “Lisa” Stacy. He was also loved by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, mother, grandparents, beloved father-inlaw Hamm, Aunt Stella Stacy, and many other family members, friends, and his grandson Xavier.
Throughout his life, he welcomed many people into his home for fellowship, prayer, and food. He was known for his tacos, salsa, Mexican food, and Texas sheet cake, as well as his chicken tortilla bake. Upon entering Heaven, he was surely expected to make good on his promise to continue sharing these with his loved ones. He loved his family, friends, music, food, and church. Above all, he loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was a prayer warrior and worshipper. Babies loved him, and he would often hold, sing, or play worship songs for them. He also loved to read and tell stories.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, March 16, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Victorious Life Church in Moundville, Alabama.
