Evelyn and J.M. spent most of their lives in Bessemer and loved camping at Tannehill until finding an away home at the Black Warrior River just outside of Moundville.

This became the most favored place to be. She enjoyed the water – even when it was high enough to flood her in for a few days. Everyone loved her cooking and she was an excellent seamstress, but she loved working in the yard doing anything possible. she loved her flowers, so much so, Dad created a heart shaped flower bed in the middle of their driveway at the river. Her color was yellow, and she loved roses.

She also enjoyed riding up and down the dirt road talking with whoever she could find available. And for the last several years before leaving the river, her most recent fur baby, Rocky, had to accompany her at all times.

She always stopped by her nieces trying to pick up more riders for the journey.

Evelyn has many nieces, nephews, great and greatgreat nieces and nephews. All whom she loved and always enjoyed seeing and spending time with.

When you mention Evelyn, everyone always says the same thing. They reminisce on how sweet a lady she was and how much they loved her.
