Sister Sherrill Thomas Todd, born August 6, 1956, in Greensboro, Alabama, passed away on January 13, 2025, at Duke University Hospital in Durham, North Carolina.
She was the daughter of the late Jessie Bell III and Mary Florence Thomas. She remained a devoted member of New Life Missionary Baptist Church throughout her life. She graduated from Greensboro Public School East Campus with the Class of 1974.
On September 20, 1974, she was united in marriage to the late Thomas Todd, and their union lasted over 45 years until his passing in May 2020.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her son, Faron Todd.
She leaves to cherish her memory three sons, Boris (Schmelcha) Todd, Brandon Todd, and Christopher Todd; two daughters, Shauna Todd and Dana Todd; four brothers, Melvin (April) Bell, Derrick Bell, Jessie Bell IV, and Jeremy Bell; two sisters, Angela Bell Jernigan and Shona Bell; seven grandchildren, Mya Keaton, Shayton Keaton, Boris “Tyon” Todd, Nicholas Keaton, Shamiah Keaton, Rayquon Todd, and Aiden Roberts; four greatgrandchildren, Braylen Williams, Cainan Tafsica, Lennox Keaton, and Ariyah Todd; one godmother, Adelaide Hearns; a god-sister, Lynette (Phillip Sr.) Wagner; two god-nephews, Phillip Wagner Jr. and Austin (Andrea) Wagner; a special uncle, Joseph (Doris) Bell; a special aunt, Catherine Thomas; three devoted cousins, Linda Thomas, Ruby McCalpine, and Barbara Sue Carter; a loving friend, Sara Long; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Her homegoing celebration was held on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at New Life Missionary Baptist Church in Greensboro, Alabama, with Bishop Stephen C. Moore officiating.
