Deborah Denise Johnson, beloved wife of Pastor Calvin Johnson of Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church, passed away on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at the age of 59. She was born June 1, 1965. A devoted pastor’s wife for nearly 34 years, Mrs. Johnson was known for her sweet and loving spirit and her unwavering commitment to her family and church community. Her memory will be cherished by all who knew her.
Funeral services for Mrs. Johnson will be held on Thursday, December 12, at 11:00 a.m. at Friendship Baptist Church in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, where The Rev. Bruce Henderson serves as pastor. The Rev. David Roseman will officiate, and the Rev. Cedric Royal will deliver the eulogy. Burial will follow in Cedar Oak Memorial Park under the direction of Rollins’ Mortuary. The body will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to the service.
A public viewing was held on Wednesday, December 11, from 12:00 noon until 6:00 p.m. at Rollins’ Mortuary.
