Greensboro Garden Club hosted 45 garden club members from around the state at the annual District IV meeting. Visitors met at Engle Gallery at 9 am on Oct 17 for registration, breakfast, and a silent auction fund raiser. From there they moved to Greensboro Presbyterian Church for a meeting, with welcome from Mayir Washington. Our guest speaker Eric Ball, Farm Manager Auburn Rural Studio, was followed by lunch. The Mustang furnished a fabulous catfish and chicken dinner and the Stable provided pie and brownies. The theme ” Growing in the black belt” offered an opportunity to learn about growing here and taste foods from our area. Following the meeting the group toured Magnolia Grove, tour led by Tim Higgins. The Garden Club extends thanks to everyone who helped to make the event happen, especially Eve Kneeland , Buzzy Barnett, Georgia Rhodes, Jack Rhodes, Durwood Robinson, LaMar Merrill, Karen Merrill, and Pastor John Alexander.
