The Friends of Hale County Library will host a special community lecture on September 19, 2024, featuring Lou Lacey, a licensed professional counselor and educator from Birmingham, Alabama. The event will take place at the Hale County Library, located at 1103 Main St., Greensboro, AL 36744, and will begin at 5:30 PM.
Lou Lacey, who specializes in the treatment of trauma survivors, will present a unique collection of stories, paintings, and drawings from her new book. The book shares insights about people she’s encountered, miracles she’s witnessed, and lessons she has learned throughout her career. With a strong belief in the healing power of laughter, connection, and the importance of wearing “weird shoes,” Lacey offers a refreshing and uplifting perspective on finding joy and meaning in life.
Lacey’s goal for this collection is to provide encouragement, comfort, and reassurance to her audience. Through her engaging storytelling, she hopes to remind everyone that no one has it all figured out, and that laughter and connection can be powerful tools in the healing process.
