Chauncy “Chuck” Wellington Wilson was born on August 24, 1949, in Akron, Alabama. He departed this earthly life and transitioned to his heavenly reward on Monday, August 5, 2024, in Akron, Alabama. Chauncy was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mattie Ruth Wilson; his sister, Mildred Jenkins of Hartford, Connecticut; and his parents.
Chauncy leaves to cherish his precious memories: his two loving daughters, Jennifer Jones (Robert) of Akron, AL, and Erica Woods (Russell, Sr.) of Akron, AL; his brothers and sisters, Walter Wilson (Hattie) of Auburn, AL, Fredrick Wilson (Beverly) of Rodessa, LA, Rico M. Wilson (Johnny) of Atlanta, GA, Linda Perry (Henry) of Akron, AL, Sandra Carter (Danny) of Greensboro, AL, Carolyn Walker of Tuscaloosa, AL, Tamqio F. Wilson of Atlanta, GA, Shirley Hall of Tuscaloosa, AL, Theresa Spralling of Stone Mountain, GA, Detective (Jimbo) Thomas of Tuscaloosa, AL, Alexander Thomas of Cleveland, OH, and William Thomas, Jr. of Tuscaloosa, AL; and a host of grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends that will miss him dearly.
A Service of Celebration was held on Sunday, August 11, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Akron New Cemetery, located on Gewin Street in Akron, Alabama. The Rev. West Moore III officiated the service.
