Deacon Roosevelt Brock, Sr. was born on May 1, 1937, in Greensboro, Hale County, Alabama, to the late Mr. Harvey Brock and Mrs. Rosa Long Brock. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Jackie Brock, Quaker (Mary) Brock, Matthew Brock, and Harvey Brock.

He met the love of his life, Ruby L. Washington, and to this union, two children were born.

Roosevelt Brock departed this life on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at Woodhaven Manor Nursing Home in Demopolis, Alabama. He completed his schooling at Druid City High School in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. After graduating, he moved to Gary, Indiana, and was employed by US Steel Company, where he worked faithfully as a Crane Operator until retiring after 37 years. After retiring, he moved back home to Greensboro, Alabama, where he joined Mars Hill Missionary Baptist Church and became an ordained Deacon.

He leaves to mourn and cherish his memories his loving wife of 45 years, Mrs. Ruby L. Brock of Greensboro, Alabama; two sons, Roosevelt Rico (Pam) Brock, Jr. and Christopher L. Brock, both of Birmingham, Alabama; one daughter, Wanda Faye Brock of Birmingham, Alabama; one sister, Rosie B. Brock of Birmingham, Alabama; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; five sisters-in-law, Janet Pernell of Madison, Mississippi, Sherry (Lonnie) Stanford of Huntsville, Alabama, Stacey (Hugh) Rollins of Roxie, Mississippi, Hope Pernell of Jackson, Mississippi, Ethel Brock of Birmingham, Alabama, and Savannah Brock of Monticello, Kentucky; two brothers-in-law, Dan (Cynthia) Pernell of Natchez, Mississippi, and Alive Ray (Linda) Pernell of Meadville, Mississippi; and a host of other relatives and friends.

The celebration of life for Deacon Roosevelt Brock, Sr. was held on Saturday, July 27, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Mars Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Greensboro, Alabama. Reverend Nathaniel Carter, Pastor, and Reverend Alive Pernell officiated the service.
